Post subject: | 1" C Clamps |
I purchased two packs of C Clamps online and they arrived today. The clamps are 1", 2", 3", and 4". Each pack has one of each. Nothing fancy, just the basic stuff. I was wondering if a 1" clamp is ever used in the building of a guitar. Thanks. |

Never used one, but I am sure there could be need or use of one in some situation. |

you can never have too many clamps, especially C-clamps. you could use it for gluing down a tearout along an edge, or use it on a headstock, or linings like someone said. if not for guitars specifically, then for holding things under the drill press, all kinds of stuff |

Yes! I have a broken Jorgensen clamp that always slips. I put my 1" C clamp on the bar to "fix" it. If my one-year-old daughter wants to play while I'm working, I often give her a clamp to play with too. The 1" C clamp is perfect! Other than that, no... Oh wait! Sometimes, when I'm thinking, I like to clamp it on my finger and watch it turn purple. (My finger...not the clamp...which is red.) |

I already used the 1" C Clamp last night. I was replacing the nut and saddle on a guitar and I used the little clamp to hold the nut down while I filed in the slots. I don't yet have a vice adjustment to hold smaller pieces of material. I posted a whole thread on this project in the DOC section. Click Here To See The Thread. Anyways, here's a photo of the little clamp in action... ![]() |
