My friend's guitar split it's top. With humidity, we were able to get it to close, but he needs to keep his R.H. 60+% to keep it closed which in Denver is not easy. We're going to try to spline it. I looked at the Power Knife at Stew Mac. It seems like a slick tool and plan, but I don't already have the Foredom, which makes it a much more expensive tool than I want to buy for this project. (Wow. I never thought I'd say that!) So, is there a similar free-standing tool, or does anyone have advice for doing it by hand? We're keeping retopping on the back burner, since he loves the sound now, and it's his first build. But it may come to that. It's a pretty big split. Thanks, Mike |

Thank, Todd. That's pretty much was I was planning to do. I'd read another post of yours praising the Powerknife, prompting me to look into it. We'll give it a shot this weekend if I've got some spruce that matches reasonably. Mike |
