Does anyone know of a good filler to match Maple? I have a small gap between the purfling and maple that I would like to fill. Thanx, Vic.

Hard to fill a gap and make it look white or maple-ish. Maple dust with glue will turn black or something like that, not really clean. Fill with something transparent like epoxy or gel CA will do the same... You should try to close that gap, if possible. Do you have a picture of that?

There is no closing it up. It is on a fiddle. Thanx, Vic.

You'd be better off trying to splice a sliver of Maple in the gap.

Violin purfling is inset (from the edge) into a channel..... methinks the channel got a bit too wide for the purfling somewhere. The purfling is usually mashed in with HHG, which does a lot of gap filling by itself.
