I have some Abalam rosette strips that I picked up along the way. They are 5 pc sets, I'm not sure what diameter they work out too as they are still carded. Rather than do a single ring of shell I would like to do an inner and outer border on a wood rosette with them. Can these be "snapped" in place as one would do with typical shell strips when doing purfling? Also, I would like to have these Abalam borders meet right against the spruce, without a purfling line but my concern is that the spruce may be too soft and the edge of the channel get chewed up when I snap the shell in, any thoughts on this? Thanks.

Thanks John, we can talk about it Sunday. Don't forget to bring a small bottle of fish glue.
