Left to right (Macacauba- Curatinge Rosewood), Honduran Rosewood, Texas ebony Jefferies Hardwoods in Knoxville has some very nice wood. John Arnold gave me a heads up on the Macacauba & Texas ebony |

You could rip tenn cedar into lining/kerfing stock watch for knots. |

Our local red ceder is a bit brittle, not my first choice for linings. I have seen guitars made of it but have not tried it myself. I have burned a bunch of it in my wood stove though

I just got two claro walnut uke sets (pic below) I plan to build my Dad and I a matching pair using the Lake Superior sinker red cedar top sets I got from Paul Woolson last year. |

Not super recent, but I have a couple of large planks of mesquite that I'm pondering using for the build challenge. I just need to decide what to make from them and if I can work it in to my schedule.

Just scored these today off a Craigslist listing. Two 5/4 Ziricote boards 9.5" wide 36" long, and one Cocobolo board planed to 4/4 8" wide by 61" long. I'm pretty pumped about them since I got a great deal on them. |

Scored this Cuban Mahogany from another member of the North Texas Luthiers Interactive. As the story goes, this stuff has been seasoning since around 1930. A cabinet maker left a stash of this stuff to his son, and his son kept it until he recently retired when he sold it to Phil, the guy who sold it to me. Beautiful stuff. He also gave me enough to do 2 necks with.. I hope.

Nothing too elaborate for me. I did find a good deal on a 12' x 8 1/4" x 1.5" piece of poplar. It'll get me about 4 bodies for drop top electrics. |

Good morning gang; I'm going to jump in on Chris' thread with a wood I need help identifing. I t is a recent score from a friend who purchased the wood from the estate of Rude Osolnik. (AMAZING wood, pre blight chestnut, mahogany etc. etc.) It is at least from the 70's. It has no identifiable smell. |

I just got this big quartered chunk of Mac Eb off of FeeBay for $80. Measures 1 1/2" x 7 1/2" x 20". Planning on using it for new totes for my hand planes. Not sure what i could use it for on a guitar. Attachment: maceb.jpg
