In another post Waddy mentioned wearing glove liners under his nitrile gloves when French polishing. Waddy, if you're out there, or anyone else who knows...where do you get them and do they come in different sizes? Thanks, Wendy

Yes, different sizes and different thicknesses. Problem is you have to buy a dozen. However, they are not expensive < $7.00/doz. I got mine from Northern Safety, on line.

Why do you wear liners?

Wow, that was fast, thanks Waddy. Even those lighter ones look pretty thick in the picture. I would assume you have to use a larger size nitrile glove to fit over it. The ones I wear now are a size small, and they are actually a little tight.

The reason for the liners, according to Waddy's post that I read, is that it helps with the sweating inside the nitrile gloves.

My hands sweat a lot when wearing nitrile gloves, so the liners sound interesting. The ones linked above are cotton, which is not very effective at wicking moisture away from the skin. There are light weight glove liners available for skiing and other outdoor activities made with materials much better at wicking moisture, but the ones I'm aware of are more expensive. Anyone know of a source for "disposable" wicking liners?

Oh ok I understand. Yeah mine get sweaty too but then I didn't wear gloves when I French Polish. Maybe I should.

The only reason I wear gloves when French polishing is because without them I end up putting a good long scratch in the finish with my fingernail. That hasn't happened with gloves on...yet.

My reasons are for both. I'm a player, so I have player's nails = longer than normal. It's easy to screw up a perfectly nice looking FP'd top with one stroke. Then you have to steam it out and pretty much start over, unless you are keeping it yourself. The sweaty hands thing is also nice. They do help with that too. Pretty hard to wick sweat away inside a rubber glove! You just need something to absorb some of it. Cotton is perfectly good for that.
