I am getting ready to brace a Port Orford top and was wondering what others have used for bracing. I have some Port Orford bracing material but am leaning towards using spruce. What would you do?

I think I'd use the PO Cedar for bracing as well, but I'd probably do some deflection testing on it - relative to the spruce I had, to compare density and deflection for identically sized pieces. Using spruce certainly is the low risk option.

I've used PO Cedar once. I used Spruce bracing. Excellent tonewood by the way.

I would use PO for the bracing too

Adirondack is what I've used. The guitar is about ready for finishing now. Looks like it will be a very boomy one.

Fred, Just finished an L-OO with a POC top and used red spruce. Think it is going to be a fine sounding guitar. First time using POC, so experience is very ltd.
