After having the workbench built I started work on reinforcing the neck.

First I tried to build a router jig that would allow me to route this thing without error, but as you can see, the router bit is too short, so I ended up having to do this:

It works fairly well, in that I can keep the router bit fairly steady with this setup even though it looks a bit scary.

Here is the first slot:

At this point I started fitting the mahogany plugs:

I've decided to use hide glue because now the joint is fairly tight and not sloppy like last time:

And finally here is the plug inserted:

There is a very small (.005") gap in one of the wood plug, if it becomes a problem I will fill it with CA.

Not bad! I was recently trying to figure out what kind of jig to make to do this, now I can steal yours! ;-)
