The last couple of side sets I bent ended up with a flat spot through one section of the lower bout. It got me wondering if I maybe had a dead spot in my blanket. It does have a section where it has delaminated in that general area. So I checked it today. Nothing scientific, I just sandwiched the blanket between a couple of pieces of MDF and spot tested it. I found about 40 degrees F variation. It was hottest near the cord, but also on the far end. It was coolest in the middle, but where it is coming apart, it was around the middle of the road. For what it's worth, it heated up quickly, and had slowed considerably though was still slowly increasing. I stopped when the hottest areas were hitting 390.

So, is it time for a new blanket? Can I do anything to re-adhere it? Has anyone else ever checked? Is that typical?

Thanks,
Mike

There's no fried or dried up stuff yet. It isn't that old, but it had a bubble in it that showed up when I heated it up. I just lanced it and squished it flat. I think I'll go get some of that stuff, cut off the bubble and do some smearing.

Thanks again.

Mike
