I was reading another post about L-00, 00 and the OM and I had a question. All other aspects being equal, which affects sound more--the shape of the body or the bracing? |

It's my opinion that if you do EVERYTHING right, EVERYTHING matters. If there's stuff that isn't......right, nothing matters. |

All other aspects being equal (including air mass of the body) I'd say bracing affects the sound more vs body shape, but not size. A heavily braced Dred and a heavily braced 00 will not sound the same....But you can make a 00 boomy depending on how you brace and shape... |

I would say the biggest thing is the size of the guitar body.. Smaller guitars just don't have the bass "Whomp" of a big guitar... Now... When you are talking about differences within a very narrow range of sizes and keeping the scale length constant.... Likely the bracing and the dimension at the waist adds up to most of the impact... Just remember that the scale lengths aren't the same on the models you proposed..... and that makes a difference too... Thanks |
