Have the Purple Heart Build in the sparay booth right now . Waiting on some stuff I have ordered to come in . In the mean time I have started a Cocobolo Build . Attachment: 100_1225.jpg Attachment: 100_1227.jpg Attachment: 100_1229.jpg Attachment: 100_1237.jpg Attachment: 100_1239.jpg If everything goes as planned , I will have Pink Ivory binding , End plates ( both ends ) yes under the neck joint to . And pink ivory headplate as well as fretboard binding . I am kicking around curly maple neck , Havent decided yet . |

I ran a bunch of wood through the drum sanders looking for tops to use on my next couple of guitars. No pics though. |

Going to work on my Sycamore/Walnut/Lutz OO's. Also got some really nice Cedar for an all cedar guitar. Be messing around with that. |

Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend so I`m gonna stuff my face with Turkey, Mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, pumpkin pie and some beverage of choice  If I`m able to move after that, I`ll be bending some Tassie Blackwood sides for a GA and gluing them up and also more coats on a EIR/cedar GA in the spray booth. Here's some pics of the guitar under finish and the Tassie blackwood.    Not sure if I'll stick with the ebony bindings, I have such a hard time bending them....especially for the florentine.

Working on a uke. This is a prototype so it won't be pretty, but it gives me a chance to learn some things without blowing my funds on wood I needn't use just yet. After this I expect to work on the "real thing". Fun fun. |

We finally got some nice warm & dry weather here in Ohio (or Uh-Hi-Uh if you prefer) so I'm watching lacquer dry on my almost from scratch OM - Martin neck billet & fingerboard, everything else from scratch. Kevin Looker |

Just finished scraping the bindings and purfulings on these two. Doing the final prep on the fretboards. Will fret them and glue them next. |

Happy turkey day, Rod! Liking the guitars, gents! I will be pore filling an EIR OOO and Koa L-OO tomorrow. This evening I finished gluing on the f/b extension bolt down tabs and routing the pockets. Also gave the bodies one more thorough check for scratches. Plan to start shooting lacquer next week. Oh, and I will be another year older! Ken |

While waiting for the lacquer to cure on my last 2 builds, I have started a Black Limba and Sitka 12 fret cutaway 000, so far I have the back joined, a top ready to brace and the sides ready to bend. I did not have a 000 cutaway bending form so I just completed one and am ready to bend sides. I will post some pictures soon. |

Closed the box on my second Romanillos-style classical on Thursday - starting to work on bindings this morning. This one is Lutz top, Palo Escrito backs and sides and a Spanish Cedar Neck. I hope I can get it done before the WRC-topped one gets picked up, so I get a chance to compare them. |

I'm finishing up the re-top on my OM, and experimenting with hand applied finishes (tru oil, varnish, shellac, etc...) trying to find something easy, efficient and inexpensive for my prototyples.. |

Eating dust instead of turkey, scrambling to complete a coco dread with a 12yr old spruce (sounds like scotch) top for local consignment, and hoping to finish a rosewood cutaway dread for myself. Just put the last coat of finish on it last night, so lots of work to do still. I'm hoping to take it to Berlin with me on Wednesday, my band is doing a small tour of Europe which I'm very excited about. Though sticking a brand new guitar in a gig bag in cargo hold while the paint is still tacky isn't my preferred MO, heck, trial by fire... Which reminds me... Jim, try Minwax Satin Poly wipe-on, or Circa 1850 paste varnish. The 1850 builds faster obviously, but it's harder to get a dead flat coat with no wipe marks. The Minwax is hilariously easy, if you can accept an open pore finish. I've done a bunch by now and they are holding up quite nicely, buyers and sellers alike are fine with it. Zero ding protection mind you, but for proto's who cares? |

First shellac coats on 3 guitars. Grand Concert in curly Mahogany & Sitka w/coco trim 00-American Boy in Cherry & Sitka w/Walnut trim all-White-Pine size 1 w/curly Mahogany trim

Almost finished shaping and sanding the neck on my flamenco build. Headstock screwup patched and invisible under tuner plates and padauk veneer. ![[:Y:]](./images/smilies/smiley20.gif "Thumbs Up") Jake.

Lots of nice pictures in this thread. Yes, is Turkey weekend up here in the Great White North and and and with my teeth, me probably gonna pass me dinner through a blender and drink it with me beer. Now don't that sound like fun.  But me is healing.blessings One of the pics in this thread had a feather inlayd on the heal cap...me liked that lots. |
