Heading to my local Rockler today...got a $50 dollar gift certificate, gotta love the little lunch box it comes in, and was planning on adding to my table saw blade collection...so was wondering what works best ... looking at a freud thin kerf blade...??

+1
7.25" Freud Diablo 40 tip CT blade. Makes a great cut with minimal loss.

Buy a 4" stiffener plate, then go to Lowes or Home Depot...buy a couple Freud 7-1/4" Diablo 40 tooth blades in the circular saw section....063" kerf, and a very smooth cut. The 60 tooth is overkill.

I keep this blade on my saw 95% of the time, and only pull it off when I need extra depth. At $15 each, just toss it when dull, or save it for cutting aluminum and phenolic. Also great on saws that are underpowered, such as tabletop or contractor saws.

Todd,

What do you use when you need the extra depth?

Do you just use one stiffener plate on the outside Todd or two like we do with fret slotting blades.

+1 on the Diablo thin kerf. Bur more importantly, I think a zero clearance set-up will be more important than the blade you choose.
