Post subject:  Need Some Spring Steel

Looking for spring steel sheet material as used for scrapers. I need something very thin. If it needs to be tempered I'd like to be able to get this from someone who can do that for me. I am willing to pay for it. PM me if you know for sure you can supply this to me and I'll give more specifics as needed.

Um, why don't you just go buy some scrapers? idunno They aren't expensive and you can cut/file them to any shape you want pretty much....

I'll second what Todd said. Old saw blades can be found at yard sales and flea markets--often for pocket change. If they can't be returned to service as saws, their blades make wonderful scrapers. Of course, this will depend on the quality of the original saw, but if it's old (like maybe your grandfather's era or older), it's probably great scraper stock.

Can't believe I didn't think of that. Thanks Todd and Co. It's actually for other purposes that I might share in a tut someday.
