hi guys im gonna be sharing some pictures of my current build.
its a classical im building for a good friend of mine
the woods this time, german spruce and guayubira (Patagonula americana) for BnS
the neck, cedar laminated with guayubira. head plate is same wood matching
shaping the block, which then after talking to my friend there were some plans changes and the guitar is going to be a cutaway so i modified the block.
this is the binding on the headstock, similar to the one on my prior guitar. i work this entirely with CA and hand pressure.
here i skiped some steps on the pictures, and im on the rossete, guayubira again for the center cirlcle, and some radial "Pinotea" , is a conifer i think Podocarpus Guatemalensis but not sure im still trying to figure it out. it was used as roofing and flooring around the 30´s, manufactured on U.S. i think.
i assembly it on dry then i carefuly put some tiny drops of CA to make the ring hold it self. then take it out and glue with titebond.

I hope it will sound good. Don't worry too much about the back braces. You can easily shave them through the sound bole if you think it lacks bass. A typical dimension for them is 8x16mm, as for the taper Torres made the braces with zero scallops, while Hauser added only a little, less than what you have there. What you did looks like an OK medium carving. Sure you can go even lower and longer if you want to make the back move some. More important is not to have the back too heavy, so if it is i the 900+ range, I wouldn't leave it thicker than 2.2mm.
