Post subject:  Rosette question

I'm building a couple of OO sized guitars and have a tracing and measurements from a 1937 OO-18. (Courtesy of John Arnold & Steven Hutchins)

The outer and inner lines/purflings are single black .025 wide. I have .020 wide black fiber or .035 wide wood veneer. Does anyone offer .025 black & white purfling?

Also I will have to grind one end of my circle cutter to about .026?

Any advice or recommendations very much appreciated.

Thanks

Greg

use .020 I don't think .005 will be a disaster . You can also order .025 from CF Martin and GMC

John & Todd thanks.

I decided to go with my .036 veneer today. I'm thinking HHG to glue it in?

I reground my cutter to .036 sharpened it and it cut a nice clean groove. Who sells the 1/4 tool steel cutters? I would like a few different sizes.

I use Duco cement on wood rosettes. No swelling.
Steven's guitar is a 1938, but it makes no difference to the pattern.
