Link is broken.....hmmm, now it works, but I did NOTHING to fix it.....wierd.
The guitar is a heap. I'd question if it's worth doing anything to it, other than hanging it on a workshop wall for show and tell.

Actually a pretty nice old guitar. Some pretty creative backwoods engineering there. Apparently the old bridge was lost at some time and the replacement bridge just raises the strings, no saddle. So to get the string length close they extended the tailpiece so it would play in tune up the neck.

And I love the case, gives me some ideas.

Get that neck attached firmly, close up the box a little better, check the bracing, new floating bridge and tailpiece and you've got a winner. As creative as it is, I think that extended tailpiece is just going to have to go on the wall. :D

Definitely a candidate for a duck tape commercial. At this point who ever removes that duck tape is in for a surprise.

Yeah, even if he took the strings off first, I wouldn't be surprised to see that tape lift the finish like a wine label remover. And, of course, if he doesn't take the strings off first, well........

It would be nice to see that guitar properly restored.

I think it is obvious that the action is off because he didnt reverse the nail when he switched the strings to left handed. Thus, the action is too high on the treble strings and too low on the bass strings. This is back woods guitar set up 101 stuff people. Jeez.

A farmer finds an old guitar in the barn and cleans it up a bit and sells it to the neighbor farmer. The 2nd farmer actually makes it playable and sells it to the 1st farmer for a small profit. They continue this 4 or 5 times til one of them sells it to a stranger. When he tells the other farmer what he did the guy replies, 'Why'd you do that, we were both making a good living off of it.'
