Okay, so I finally resanded my curly maple bindings to get the padauk dust/bleeding off them oops_sign and I'm going to porefill with Zpoxy. Do I need to seal the bindings with anything, or is the Zpoxy safe?

thanks in advance

Steve

Seal the bindings. The z-poxy will pull more dust out of the paduak and stain the bindings again if you dont!

I would shellac and tape too. The tape will help with clean up and the shellac will keep the maple clean if anything gets under the tape.

But wont mushing the Z-Poxy around push the paduak dust into the maple?
Maybe spraying a coat of sealer or spraying shellac onto the bindings will help seal things and prevent the staining from occurring again?
I have never used paduak, but I understand the dust can be pervasive and annoying. I have used dark woods with light bindings however, and I sprayed rattle can lacquer on the whole guitar to seal everything and prevent the dark dust from contaminating the light bindings. Worked like a charm.
