I had the 45 degree angle in the reflection, but looks like I didn't have the chisel perpendicular to the purfling when I made the cut. It looked fine gluing up, but scraping it down exposed a small gap on two of the miters. My question is what is the fix for this? I couldn't find anything doing a search. How do I color match the black and white fiber veneer if I try to fill it....that is, if it CAN be filled. Help!

Got a picture or two for us?

From your description, it sounds like it's very visible - if it were mine, I'd route everything off (bindings, purfs, end graft, whatever it takes to have a "blank canvas" to work on again) and start over.

Good luck,
Dave F.

Don't try to fill it, it won't work. Only thing to do is re-do it or live with it.

Thanks, guys. That's what I feared. I'll remember to order extra binding next time.
