Hi all, I thought I would let you know that my interview in Acoustic Guitar magazine was just published and can be found online as well as in print.

However, while AG did a very good job in editing in regards to organizing the information/interview, a couple of erroneous statements got introduced. The one that concerns me the most is the following line:

Quote:
Like most flattop guitars, the top is excited mostly by torque rather than downward force, like the tops of Gypsy-jazz or archtop guitars.

In fact, the opposite it true. There is no torque on the guitar with this bridge/tailpiece system as is the case with any tailpiece guitar. There is however about ten pounds of static downward force in contrast to the original stress free bridge, which has none. I felt it was important enough to clarify this as soon as possible.

Isn't it funny that whenever some newspaper or magazine does an article, they almost always get something seriously wrong. I AM surprised that a publication like AG made such an error.
Writers resist letting the subject of the article read it before publishing. I think people should insist on that right, before they agree to being "written up".
I have had one bad experience with this & am pretty sensitive about it.

Well, I am very appreciative for the opportunity that AG gave me. Actually the author, Jason Borisoff, did give me the opportunity to proof read it, which I did. The changes evidently occurred during the editing phase. Jason is a great guy by the way. He is the son of David Borisoff of Hipshot Guitar.

I agree. The press is a great resource & I appreciate their efforts & their craft.
But... I think it's a good idea to proof read anything written before publication. Something that seems like a minor detail to the writer (or the editor) can be very important to the person being written about. Congrats on the article, by the way!

Thanks Daniel and Mike; I appreciate it. It certainly would have been nice to have the opportunity to proof it after the final edit.
