On another forum archive I was reading about a difference between the Martin style "U" channel truss rods sold by Stew Mac and LMI. It claimed one was OK and to stay away from the other. The info was quite old so maybe there has been a change. I am thinking about converting to this type of rod and gluing them in place. Has anyone any info they could pass on about these rods. Tom |

The LMI "Martin style " truss rod has a steel u channel which makes it a fair amount heavier than the Stew Mac "Martin style" truss rod, which has an aluminum u channel. I like the aluminum channel rod for a one way rod. It also has ribbed sides which makes for better gluing. You can also get them from Martin. Chuck |

The best Martin style rod is available from The Guitar Makers Connection at Martin guitars or John Hall at Blues Creek. Fred |

Do the new Martin 2 way rods fit in the same size slot as the old one way U channel rods? If not, what size slot is called for? Joe |
