I think the necks are rift unless specified. I've always picked out the ones that specify quartered, and look like good straight grain in the photos. Some of their walnut necks before looked too curved to me, but it looks like they've all sold, so I guess someone else didn't think so
The maples up there all look good, except for maybe that one with slanted grain... but it might be wide enough to cut the slant out of it.I'd stick with the luthier suppliers for neck stock, until you can confidently judge what it suitable. Body wood for electrics, lumberyard stuff ought to be fine. But the OWW tops are quite beautiful and reasonably priced, so you might as well use 'em
I've got an awesome wide curl redwood from them for when I get around to making my first electric. Fished through the drop tops and found one just under 1/2" thick, thus priced as a drop top but thick enough to do a little carving
