Post subject:  Four Piece Back Bracing

I've seen three piece backs and their bracing but am wondering about four piece backs. I did a quick search but found nothing on the topic. I can only assume each seam receives a reinforcement strip as two and three piece backs do but is it necessary to lighten or otherwise alter the rest of the backs bracing? Photos of your four piece bracing would be great.

I've only built a couple of guitars with four piece backs. I don't mind them but I only like them if the outside seams don't run the length of the back. I think the seams need to fall outside the waist. This is a picture of a small jumbo that I built a few years back. The bracing was what I ordinarily do for my small jumbos. I didn't reinforce the outside seams in the upper bout but I did put two round cleats in the lower bout. I might not even put the cleats in with ladder braced backs.
