Post subject: | Question about humidity |
I haven't been in the shop for a while. Since January to be exact. Just finished a couple classes while also working full time. I'm glad class is out! Unfortunately I still have to go to work though ![]() Only recently have I had to dehumidify. However for the past month I have been in training at Fort Indiantown gap and working up at Carlye Barracks and I haven't been able to empty the dehumidifier. I'm guessing that the humidity is going to be about 60% to 70% by the time I get back to MD this weekend. How long will I have to wait after returning the room to 45%-50% before I can safely work on it again? It is currently in a mold waiting on me to close the box, bind and add the neck. Thanks, Joey |

Does anyone have any advice/experience at all? If not I suppose I will wait about a week before working on it again. |

Hi Joey, I would think a week would be plentiful. It's only the top and back that you need to worry about. If they look like the same shape/dome that you put into them when building I'd think you were fine. Thin plates like that should stabilize fairly quickly. That being said, it would be nice to hear another opinion... |

I am about 40 min from Indiantown gap . As for RH if you can control it to about 45% you should be ok In the summer I prefer to get it as low as I can. I hold my shop to 35 when building in the summer . |

Good new, I can get back to work quicker than I though. ![]() I'll have to drop by Blues Creek one of these days, but for now I'm off to Libery Mountain to relax by the pool with with the lady and a couple of cold ones. Cheers ![]() |
