![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Congrats, looks great! Neat color scheme with the light woods and greens. And you've even got side purflings in there, and a 12 hole bridge, it appears ![]() Do you have the means to record sound clips? I'd love to hear it ![]() |

nice. The huge rosette makes it seem to have a small sound hole. Congratulations. |

Thanks guys. Got this one done in my spare time in 3 months. The local guitar store said it is a KEEPER! Sounds better than anything they've got in their store. Very clear trebbles and mid tones and suprisingly good bass. I ended up using a symetrical bracing to allow the top to compensate for the fact the back is Maple (bright by nature). The neck is sapele. I'm loving this color scheme. I'm using it for my next (Sitka/EIR with curly maple bindings). It reminds me of South America. Spent time in Argentina, so I love the Southern colors. Forgot to mention the back and sides are from Shane at High Mountain. Not even one of his better sets. Thanks Shane! Working on my 3rd and trying new ideas. I figure it is better to experiment (i.e. inlay's) on early builds than on guitars that are more polished and marketable but are marred by beginning experience on new techniques. Thanks again. Spent 2 years from 79-81 in Southern Argentina, from Mar Del Plata down to Bariloche. The Rosette is a Bogdonovich style (and this particular color scheme), but I like it so much, I think I'll try to create some nice combo's with it. Steve |

Quote: Did you add the green purfling in the rosette? If so, where did you get the green purfling? I lke that color green. Thanks Darrel, I did all the work in the Rosette and using veneers from LMI. The green and rust are .6mm, yellow and black are .3. It was expensive to build the wheat and harringbone, but I had enough for several guitars. The top purflings are individual strips, and the side purflings were glued to some dimensioned bloodwood, then cut into strips and bent. Thanks agan, Steve |
