This was at a coffee house jam. The parlor is a from scratch guitar I made, the electric was a kit guitar; really more of a finishing project.

Sweet. That must have been gratifying to a proud papa!

These are good pics John! You can really see how much she loves playing music. The guitars look great too!

That's just great! [clap]

I have been mulling over building my first guitar for a couple of years now. And recently, my 6 year-old daughter has taken an interest in guitar. So, I'm going to do as you did...build a parlor-sized guitar from scratch for her as my first build. I've orded the plans from LMI and they should be here soon. Plan to start some time in the fall.

What plan did you use for the acoustic?

I built my first parlor guitar with a luthier, Rick Davis and followed his design. I am currently working on my second parlor guitar at home and am following the Ridgewood Designs 1906 Parlor Guitar plans that I got from pilgrims projects. The parlor I built is a Martin 0 sized guitar, With a 6 year old it might be better to build a Martin 5 sized Parlor.

When I made the parlor I made the neck less wide at the nut than the Martin plans 1 3/4" instead of 1 7/8" as my daughter has small hands. It turned out OK a little tight for my classical style but playable. It worked out for my daughter.
