Post subject: | first attempt using Z-poxy |
Just been using Z-poxy for the first time following Todd Stock's youtube vids. When I had finished the third thin coat I noticed a couple of runs. I used a razor blade on them and then sanded again. I'm seeing lots of sparklies when I tilt to the light. Should I (a) Keep sanding until they disappear, then give a final coat and lightly sand to key the surface. (b) Give another normal coat, sand until they go then give a final coat and key (c) leave it as it is and spray sealer/finish (d) something else? All help greatly appreciated. Charles. |

Hey Todd, I'm filling with z-poxy, scuffing with 240 and then green scotchbrite, and appying two 50/50 washcoats with gray scotchbrite in between. From there I spray nitro. It turns out looking great but I'm still worried about adhesion. Question 1: Would you worry about topcoat adhesion doing it as I described? I'm guessing you would. Question 2: If you recommend a seal coat between the z-poxy and the nitro...is there a type of sealer that is head and shoulders better than another? Question 3: Is that sealer going to be the same with solvent based lacquers and water based lacquers? |

So am I correct in thinking the sparklies are unfilled pores? |
