Yep, straight to buffing. But frankly I would like to be able to get one step finer. They do make a 9 mic as well, but I found that it clumped quickly and left deeper scratches than what you're trying to sand out. So it takes a bit of muscle/patience at the wheels, but the results are nice. |

No, what I have is 5" discs with I think 8 holes for vacuum. I'm not sure if it comes in hook and loop. I know you can get a pad for the sander easily enough. |

Meddling Fool- What kind of finish are you sanding? Have you used that method on nitro? Phillip- Think about using the Dynabrade for all your sanding. I have 4 in the shop and they are the very, very best sanders for all your sanding. Extremely fast and powerful. I know you'll like it if you try it. I use PSA Mirka Gold paper. The pads on your sander just screw on and you can get any kind pads, hook & loop, PSA, PSA with holes, etc., very cheaply. Happy sanding.-Bob |

Everything but nitro. Slow dry laquer, UV poly, ktm 9 (rotten stuff!), ktm SV (awesome stuff!)...seems to work well for everything so I don't see why nitro would be a problem. But I say that with no nitro experience. |

I'll definitely be trying it on wood too. I'm hoping this will revolutionize my finish. Sometimes I get these deep scratches that don't show up until I've buffed. ![[headinwall]](./images/smilies/headbangwalluf8.gif "Mad") I think they are from finish loading up on the paper.

Probably. I have a piece of soft carpet on the bench. I sand a bit, sand the carpet to clean the disc, repeat. I use 6-8 discs if each grit per guitar. Not cheap, but better ryan having deep scratches. |

At a cabinet shop I worked at we used Uneeda abrasives. They cut forever compared to the one with the dog on them they used before (dont remember what brand that was) . We used the red PSA backed ones. http://www.sandpaper.com/products/discs ... orking.asp Darrin |

How many cfm is your compressor? I used those for years when I did cabinet work and they hog air. I've wanted to get one for my personal use but been afraid my compressor wouldn't keep up. |

Should keep up.

Well, my dynabrade finally got here. I'm stoked. I went out and bought a regulator, oiler, and filter/dryer. I already have a dryer installed, but I figure another can't hurt.
