Since a lot of folks including myself are doing bolt-on necks for archtops you need some simple way to remove the end jack to tighten the bolts. The tools that use a rigid rod connected to a 1/4" tip don't leave enough room for the wrench. I found that bicycle derrallieur cable works great soldered onto a 1/4" tip with a wooden handle at the end to keep the nut and washers from falling on the floor. The wench fits around it easily. I'm sure a bunch of you have already made something like this. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Terence, I use a straw with a string through it. Feed the straw (actually, two straws joined end to end) through the endpin hole & out the f-hole, tie the string to the jack & pull back out the endpin hole. (Still using same straw I used on guitar #1 ![]() |
