Planning #3 and #4 and looking for some advice/opinions on wood selection. Specifically wanting input on whether or not the woods will compliment each other from a sound perspective. Aesthetic opinions also gladly accepted. #3: lefty Taylor style Grand Auditorium with Venetian cutaway. Waterfall bubinga back and sides with bearclaw Sitka top. #4: Dred. EIR with sinker redwood top. Good combos? Is figured bubinga decent to bend? |

Quote: Is figured bubinga decent to bend? Yes but with supersoft II it can be done with a little care. I have bent 2 sets both with a cutaway without any problems using a Fox Style bender and heat blanket I have used Bubinga with Englemman and it made a great guitar, I am building a Bubinga Lutz now. |

The formula for good tone is thus: any cool hardwood+any conifer(spruce or cedar for example)+good construction=great guitar! Therefore you have made some great choices! |

My $.02, I would make the bubinga/sitka the dred and the EIR/sinker the GA. Dreds like sitka and the EIR/sinker is a great combination for a fingerstyle guitar. Bending for the bubinga would be easier too. |

Thanks for the input. These are being built for friends so I cant do a wholesale swap of the woods but I will stick with sitka on the dred and just use a darker shellac to get the look they are after. |
