I decided to replace my spring steel .46mm steel slats with 420 stainless steel - the only thickness I could get was .5mm

I have not used them yet but the .5 looks a little stiff in comparison to the .46mm of the steel -

What are you using out there - is .5mm an the thick side ?

I'm using the plates LMII sells. I believe they're .025'' (0.635 mm). So you should be fine with 0.5 mm.

I passed e through my bender and it seemed OK, the acid test is when I make a sandwich of the the other and the blanket.

.635 seems heavy to me - thanks for the info
