Post subject:  Steel prices and Luthiery

I woke up this morning with my mind set on buying another Woodmaster CT because mine went south over the weekend while resawing some Bubinga. Of course I check the regular suppliers prices, even though I know who I most likely will buy from and a thought occurred to me. Future steel prices will affect us. Filippo's thread hunting replacement blades got me thinking of this too.

As an aside I own a medium sized landscape company here in Jacksonville and we use quite of bit it. We buy our tires for the trailers already mounted on a wheel to make the change out faster and easier, not to mention the number of mower blades and edger blades we go through each year. I've already noticed upticks in the cost of these items. Here's an interesting article on steel prices from the Financial Times -> http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/758d30da-2720-11e0-80d7-00144feab49a.html#axzz1KXib3vMe

The bandsaw blades, tablesaw blades, chisels....et al that we use are all going to go up. To the point - I might not just order 1 bandsaw blade today. I might order 2 or 4.
