Hey guys,

Here's a recent inlay leaving the shop tomorrow. Used a cool effect on the headstock.

Thanks for looking!

Paul

Beautiful engraving work, Paul. At least it looks like engraving?
And the first shot...is that moon internally backlit? (How cool would that be!)
Nice work as always,

Steve

First off, beautiful inlays! That glowing moon is sick!
Secondly, how do you get the moon to glow? Is it phosphorescent material? LED under the inlay? Magic powder? Pixie dust? I NEED to know!!

Looks like wafer thin MOP with some glow-in-the-dark plastic behind it. Whatever it is, very cool effect.

Don, you are correct. .003 MOP veneer over some moonglow material.(from masecraft supply) Looks like shell in day light, glows through @ night.

Steve, yes, engraved features...The client asked for a wolf head shot on the fretboard alone, with the moon on the headstock with clouds. After many in process photos, he agreed to let me "run' with it a bit... Classic images, but I'm happy with it..

Aww, now, that's just clever. Never play in the dark again.
Why not do that on fretboard inlays? A bit trickier with the radius, but hey--you've got all of .003" to play with, right?

Actually just realized that my avatar photo used the same technique a year back on a Woolson creation. The lighthouse window lit up after dark.
