Thought I'd give a plug to a nice product. I carved a couple necks tonight and got a chance to use my newly acquired dragon rasps from stew-mac. I have both the coarse and fine in both sizes. The smaller ones work well for tighter volute areas, and the larger ones work well in heels and barrel. The cut really nicely. The coarse ones really move some material, but still leave a decent surface. The fine ones leave a surface ready to take the sander to. All in all very nice rasps and well worth the money.

John......They DO look good. I just attended a workshop with Michael Millard of Froggy Bottom Guitars, on profiling necks, and he used these rasps. I was impressed with the quality of the whole deal...and a pair are now on the way.

I have these and usually use the fine cut for just about everything. They are rather pointy and after poking myself a couple of times, Ouch!, I blunted the tips on a bench grinder. Great files.
