Post subject:  How To Stabalize A Tight Lower Bout Back Crack

The guitar is a Silver Creek which is a inexpensive all solid wood guitar. I'm not too concerned about an invisible repair, I just want to stabalze the crack. The crack is on the left side of the green tape in the first picture, and south of the green tape in the second picture. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I buy micro-pipettes by the 5000 for about $12...should be a thread from a few months back covering the link to Biologix.

Cut up paper towels into 2" squares, fold to desired width, dip in thin cap and glide the pad on to the surface...each will be good for at least one pass, and sometimes two. Allow each layer to cure, then pad on another layer. Once there is enough CA on the surface, scrape and sand level, let sit overnight, then buff. This works on almost any polyester or poly urethane guitar finish...if the CA is hard, you'll avoid witness lines as well.

The crack seems to be level, so I'll try the CA method. Thanks Todd,

Todd,
The local Hobby shop has thin CA. Is that the same as "Medium thin"?

Thanks,
Ron
