I have done a couple builds with standard ladder back bracing, and a couple with a x bracing on the lower bout mostly for aesthetic reasons, I was wondering is there any reason to not run a radiused brace length wise for the center brace , perpendicular to the ladder bracing???? would it make the back too rigid???? more prone to cracking??? seems it would help retain the radius of the back.. or am I overlooking something obvious...which I am prone to do from time to time!!!!! ![]() |

I suppose it depends on what you're wanting the back to do. It would make my style backs too stiff. |

I would have thought that the profiled and radiused ribs (rim) would maintain the lengthwise radius of the back without the need for a lengthwise brace. |
