Been a while since I posted anything. Here's my lastest....size 0, koa back/sides, spruce top, spanish mahogany neck.

The major booboo....the vertical adjustment on my laminate trimmer went bad. Well, the lock did anyway. While routing the binding rabbet on the back, the bit was getting deeper as I went around. It left a nicely taperred binding rabet from the butt end to the waist before I noticed. gaah I'm just glad the side was thicker than the binding so it didn't cut through and show the kerfing. Anyway, I filled the big gap with with CA and its fairly invisible, except for the bubbles. You can see in the last pic. We'll see if it holds up or cracks....I figure there's only about 0.02" koa behind the CA :?
Otherwise....what a great little guitar. I can see why people really like the 0 size!!

Good looking guitar even with the mistake. I have had the same thing happen to me. I ended up adding side purfling as a fix. Then I replaced the locking mechanism on my lam trimmer.

Again, great looking little guy.

Too bad! Nice little guitar, though. I expect in a few years you'll barely notice it.

At the moment it just happens I'm working on a koa 0 size too, only a 12-fret, also with rope purfling. Same backstrip too! Great minds think alike!

Just did the same dang thing myself on my 12 mini jumbo. Tried glueing in a section of oak, finally routed that off and put a double black line in.

Thanks Pat....wish mine looked that good. It would be interesting to compare the 12 and 14 fret versions sometime.
