Hey guys,

So glueing on a fretboard today when I removed the clamps and the caul I noticed that there must have been some play in my pins closer to the nut as my centering lines had moved slightly left (I guess under the pressure of the caul and I didn't notice GAH! [headinwall])

Do you think there will be a way to compensate for this or if not what are some other remedies I might consider?

Thanks for the help.

Yo, Axe...

How much is slight?

Do the calculations and ask yourself can you live with a nut that narrow.

If not...

Remove and re glue.

Simple eh!

After having a couple FBs move on me while using pins thru fret slots a couple years ago, I moved to a foolproof method .. while the neck blank is still wider than the FB, I glue on small side pieces to the neck blank that hold the FB in place .. havent had one move since.

If it not that much, ie, a mm, you can likely leave it .. otherwise, heat it off and do it again.

Same here, I glue a few side stops on either side. Care must be taken that not too much glue gets in between them and the FB which might prevent it from sliding all the way up.

Awesome guys thanks for the help.

Some haven't slid much but I think one has slid a little more than a mm so I might have to re-do that one.

@Tony maybe you should update Dougie on all these new techniques hes missing out on if hes passing this info on! Haha.

Again thanks for the help!
