Post subject:  Cut Abalone purfling

I've been buying my abalone strips (cut from ablam) for the purling on my guitars, and I want to start producing this myself here in my shop. I'm curious as to what others are using to get a consistent and accurate strip. Safely. I see proxxon makes a mini bandsaw with water coolant feed attachment, but would like to hear some recommendations before parting with the green.

I tried the power scroll saw, and that was not a good idea.
Thank you.

this is hard but not impossible. I made a saw with a diamond blade attached to a dremel.

I bought a mini table saw for around a hundred bucks and bought a diamond blade for it. Works great. I have also seen people make their own saw with a Dremel. Something that will keep it straight and use a diamond blade. Rio Grande sells the blades. Several vendors provide the Ablam already cut, but it is easy to do. If you need, I can look through my papers and find where I bought the saw. My saw came with a fence. Just wear a mask when you are cutting. Toxic dust.
