I've started a guitar with my first 3-piece back. Is there anything structurally I need to watch out for? The two outer pieces are brazilian cherry and the inner piece is honduras mahogany. I've been curious about using an X-braced back at some point, would there be any benefit to trying this here? |

One advantage would be that the back reinforcements strip will not fall on the x. ![]() |

I do 4 piece backs and only reinforce the center seam. Some times I wonder why I even do that. |
