Hey!

Probably a lot of you already know this, but for the ones who don't, I highly recommand you the book UNDERSTANDING WOOD, by Bruce Hoadley.

I bought this yesterday, and almost finished it right away. It's a really nice book, and you don't have any more question about wood, after that.

Francis: Have to agree. Have had the book for a long while and it's very informative. Hoadley also has another book on wood identification. I'm not with my books at this time so can't give a title. Also a ton of good info.

Thanks!!

I'm on it.

I'm halfway through "Guitar Lessons" by Bob Taylor. So far a very good read.

it´s mandatory read, IMHO, for anyone who´s getting started in anything wood-related.
the other book should be this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Identifying-Woo ... 932&sr=1-2

cheers!

Fine Woodworling has both of the Hoadley books on sale now for $19.98 each. Best to buy them seperately from Fine woodworking, as the sale price for buying them as a bundle is $59.93.
