Nice, thanks for sharing. I really like your treatment of the purfling at the end of the fretboard.

That Finish sure brings out the beauty of the wood and really helps show off
your smooth clean style of building.

I look forward to seeing them tomorrow. [:Y:]

Great job as usual. Love the bevel. Do you use nitro for a finish?

Filipo,
you have done what many people seem to be afraid to do.... offer honest criticism and I appreciate that.
Let me address your points....

Filippo Morelli wrote:
....I'm not sure if it is the fact that the lip seems to droop into the soundhole and/or the spacing of the inset purfling (not sure what to call the red line) has a fair bit of space in front of the drooping area.

The purflings are bloodwood. It may be look a bit wider than it is because the pictures are so close. Just have to see it in person. The fretboard treatment is a sort of rounded end and the intention was to make it obvious. Off course not everyone is going to like it.

Filippo Morelli wrote:
You do a great job with the bevel - honestly most of them look like crap. You're looks classy, which must mean you've figured out something about the proportions that many others have not.
Filippo

Thank you for that, its probably one of the hardest part to execute.

Filippo Morelli wrote:
The red line looks naked on the fretboard. I'm not sure if it needs additional purfling lines (as next to the binding). It almost feels like you wanted to adorn the fretboard, but wasn't sure how far to go and stopped somewhere in between.

Filippo

Actually I did it the other way, I didn't want to overdo the fretboard so it will draw attention to the beauty of the woods.

Filippo Morelli wrote:
On the rosette I very much like your thin proportions. Again, many folks put big rings of wood and shell which never seem to come together - very tasteful selection of radial purfling and shell. You have a good eye.
Filippo

thank you. Actually its not radial purfling, just cocobolo cut out in sections so the grain is consecutive.

Filippo Morelli wrote:
The Zion back is beautiful. Is there a bit of finish separation on the back joint, in the middle of the back? Or is the light playing tricks on us and laying down a thin white line?

Gorgeous execution as usual. Always enjoy seeing your instruments. Hope the constructive criticism is ... constructive!

Filippo

No finish separation anywhere on the back, whatever you are seeing is a reflection or something else.

Once again, thanks for the kind compliments and the feedback! :D

Nice work, Peter. Your transitions into the bevel are about the smoothest I've seen.

Normally, I don't care for the looks of bevelled armrest guitars, but yours is just beautiful. Very nicely thought through and wonderful execution of lots of good choices. Congratulations!

Just reading through some posts and I think I missed this one.

Pics are beautifully clear. One thing that annoys me a bit is the white flecks under the finish. The finish itself looks amazing. And of course the guitar looks awesome. love the rosewood armrest bit. Very well done.
