Post subject:  Help with 24" Fretboard Slotting

I need a premium grade Ebony 24" scale length fretboard (16" radius). Just wondering if anybody has one they can part with or can slot for me. The only things I sub out are finishing and fretboard slotting (since I don't have a table saw). I normally get my fretboards from LMI with a 25.0" scale but they don't have a 24" scale length option. And certainly, I would insist on a healthy reimbursement fee.

Many Thanks,
Simon

You probably already know this,, if you use a standard 25.4 scale board from LMI and ask for 21 frets and cut off the first fret, you would be pretty close to a 24 inch scale.

I can do you one that's 23.918" or 24.069" with however many frets, and whatever radius you want. I suppose I could do you one that's exactly 24" but templates make me lazy.

FWIW, 23.918" is a 25.34" scale - the first fret, 24.069" is a 25.5" scale - the first fret. The board is just cut off at the first fret position, and the second fret becomes the first.

Thanks for the information guys -- didn't think about just chopping off the first fret and using a longer scale length. Others in my position might feel a bit stupid but not I. For me, ignorance is just par for the course 8-)
