I have a guitar that I made as a prototype a while back. I don't much care for how it turned out, but rather than throw it out, I am going to use as a way to learn repair techniques. Which ones are the most common/valuable?

I am looking at removing the bridge, fingerboard, frets (as if to do a refret)... I was also thinking about putting on a permanent clear pickgaurd for practice. In the end, this will be taken apart and the pieces salvaged. But I want to do it carefully, so let's hear what you would do to this one as a learning experience!

removing a fret board is not a common repair but refretting is and as is resetting a neck. Pulling a bridge plate is also a good skill for the inventory . Fixing top and side cracks . All are basic and common repair issues /

You say you want to salvage it so I'm guessing you won't want to break the head stock off but a broken head stock is a fairly common repair.
