CA Top Stains and Cedar?

Post subject:  CA Top Stains and Cedar?

I’m wondering if CA stains Cedar the same way it stains spurce. I have assumed that it does, but that is an assumption.

why not try it on some scrap and see?

It does John.......seal all binding channels and rosette channels with shellac (qtip method). I keep a coat or 2 of shellac on the entire top also....you'd be surprised how easily that stuff gets a good bench rash.

Yes it does. Treat the same as spruce.

Thanks guys. I have used titebond so I'm ok. I did that because I didn't have any shellac to seal with. Probably not the best reasoning for glue choice, but I'm glad I was careful.

I'll add the seal with shellac step to future work.
