I bought some Peruvian Walnut planks to be used as a decorative layer in a neck laminate but the more I handle it, the more it seems likely it will make a good neck wood by itself. It's very light and stiff with very straight grain. It rings nice and seems to rate in line with mahogany as far as hardness goes. It's rated stability is a little above average and since it's in a laminate I'm not that concerned about stability. Does anyone have experience making necks with this wood? |

LMI's been selling the stuff as neck wood for years. I like it myself. |

I've used it on a couple guitars and really like it. |
