so in June, I was introduced to a local luthier with 25 years experience and he has offered to mentor me in my first build. so far it has been a wonderfull experience and i feel that i am coming away with a much better understanding of each process as i come to it. Ill keep posting progress pics. thanks yall.

Back/Sides-East indian rosewood trimmed in curly maple and WBWB purfling
Top- sitka spruce

Are those finger braces upside down from the usual pattern on purpose? Will be interesting to see if that gives it a unique sound :)

The rosette was in the back of my mentors drawer. His name is mark wahl by the way. I almost went with a herringbone until I saw that one. I've never seen one like it.

That little plane is sweet!

I did the finger braces backwards on purpose. Not really any reason other than originality. I thought they looked nice that way so mark and I had a discussion about it and I went with it.
