Herry: I restored an old Harmony (late thirties-early forties) which had one-piece birch top and back. Both the top and back had cracks and warps. I used an iron and a spritz of water under aluminum foil. The warps came out but the top-side swelled so it bowed. Next day I ironed with no water or foil but still bowed. Third day I clamped it flat and ironed again. Success! This process worked for both top and back. Success for me may not be acceptable by your standards but I was satisfied. Bob ![]() |
