Here are 2 new ones I recently finished. They are #4 and #5 and I tried out a few new things. Am OM for my daughter who was in Scotland this summer at a fiddle camp and came home saying "all the Scottish musicians play more than one instrument", kidnapped my guitar and is doing well learning. An excuse to build #4. Yaaaa!

This guitar gave me a bit of grief. I had a little chip out on the top when I cut the binding channel. I didn't know how bad it was until I started to finish and was too far in to re top. I did a bit of a goofy inlay that I don't care for but my daughter is happy.

Any of the problems I had building were forgotten when I strung 'er up. I like it a lot. Beautiful clear tone with very cool bell like over tones. 
It was quite a challenge cutting the vine. Actually Andy Depaul cut most of it..... but I had to shorten it by about 1/8". I did a compensated nut (thanks Tony!) and am happy with the results. There seems to be a little less B string issues that sometimes seem to happen. First time using West for pore filling. Thanks for the great toot Todd! I had to find out for myself whether it would be better to take it back to bare wood before finishing and did so on the back. Big mistake. Holy crap is that wood have pores. It took a lot of coats to fill. Also my first mitred purfs with some excellent coaching from my good friend Dan Minard it was a little more time consuming but not too difficult.
#5 is for me because a parlour is a must have for me and I sold my last one.

This guitar is opening up nicely and will be great and I'm happy to say it is almost flawless. Man it sure it hard to achieve perfection though. For me there always seems to be something. Sometimes small and sometimes not.
This one got gold fret wire and I like it. It is harder than nickel but still works fairly easily and they look cool. These got pressed in. I will never hammer another fret that can be pressed. I tried out vinyl sealer on this one. I have to say it's a no go for me. IMHO the adhesion isn't great. It did make for nice base for the nitro though and looked like a factory matt finish. So ya, nothing but good to say about Lutz. Thanks Shane.
