Can I use an acoustic guitar body as a bass? Some sites show about 180 pounds stress on each. I know I'd have to mess with the neck length.

Have you ever put 13-56 strings on a guitar built for 12-53?

You could do a 30 or 32'' bass, but the only strings available are 45-100 and it's really floppy on this scale. I have personnaly a short scale acoustic bass, and don't really like it.

And a guitar body is way too small to produce a nice sound.

Dimension of an acoustic are similar to a jumbo, usually. So... 16-16½ large, 20'' long, 5'' deep, and sometime it's not enough.

Thanks, Francis. I'd thought of some of that, but not the looseness of the strings. That really would be trouble.
