We call "Wheelkits" "Mobile Bases" on this side of the world. Here's one that's been popular in my network of Woodworking buddy's: http://www.woodstore.net/roltoolbas.html Here's a write up with photos: http://www.ncwoodworker.net/forums/showthread.php?t=31459&highlight=mobile+base |

Unless you just really want to use time, energy, and materials to make one of these, it seems more efficient to just buy one. I don't know if Grizzly sells on your side of the pond, but HERES's a link to an HD mobile base that would likely work for your bandsaw for $62.95 US. I have one under my Grizzly 17" ultimate bandsaw and it's great! |

thanks for the input guys after more googleing i think ill be spending money + investing time ![]() as well i should have explained my needs more (sorry) I didnt buy the wheel kit for my bandsaw becuase i was thinking of making my own/empty wallet And glad i did not now because it looked a bit tippy (its 200kg) its a jockey bar type system i think. I have it on a big trolley now but its too high/awkward and non adjustable Is their any kind of mobile base thats easily two way adjustable (plumbable) to account for my BAD floor ? my workshops at the moment is my dads revamped garage and ill be putting it out of the way near the corner for my dad to use it for small stuff (he prob wouldnt bother pulling it out) also i wont be using it that much at the moment so it might as well be a christmas present for him Bill that grizzly looks doable for me mabye is it one way height adjustable or does those bolts just touch the ground to stop it from moving ? thanks again |

At first I thought you meant the wheel inside. |

Tomas, The stops keep it from moving and do have limited height adjustment available for leveling as long as the floor is not too radically out of level. I don't use the stops on mine because I like being able to reposition my bandsaw depending on the size of the material I am working. I simply use wedges to keep it from moving while in use. |

Thanks again still looking around and it seems ill be welding up my own base the ones that are on my side of the water seem too flimbsy well at least for my floor ![]() It looks like ill be needing to wedge it up and screw down bolts to level it up Id love to get two of those lever castors if i could or even a good picture so i could try and copy it if it wasnt too complicated anyway i rough sketched out a corner of the wheel kit proberly the strongest /easiest way of doing it with angle iron still waiting to draw the rest because that relys on the castors tomas |

Hello just replying to the last link i sent I thought id give some 1 dimentional pics of this as it might save some head scracthin trying to measure it out from the other pics you should be able to zoom in and match my ruler up to scale stick a page on your laptop screen and trace with a felt tip pen If i was to do it again.... i would make the foot lever a 1/2" longer OR make the bottom of it have more area twords the foot side (BTW) The box iron on my levers is a lighter guage and it could cut your boots when you disengage the lever so youd be as well to run a bead of weld at the end or somethin last thing is i would make a plastic template instead of a cardboard one because that box metal throws off your eyes hope this helps someone tomas |
